🌼🌹 Spring is here! Right!? I can't say it too loud or Vermont will get another 10 inches of snow.
Even though it's April, I'll be announcing 🏆 March's Top Club 🏆 next week! There were a few who had amazing shipping numbers this past month, it was not an easy decision.
As for the rest of this newsletter, make sure to check it all out! There are lots of unique YSWS opportunities below. Ones you can even do in a 30 minute lunch period! ⏳
Ship Projects. Fly to Open Sauce 2026!
Teenagers ages 13-18 can earn free tickets (normally $200) + funds to cover a round-trip flight + hotel through building STEM projects in Hack Club's programs.
This is 100% free for teenagers and funded by donors at hack.club/opensauce and Hack Club’s donor network.
Get people to your meetings to build and earn tickets! Order posters to help raise awareness.
Ship PRs. Get Rewards.
This is a new series of YSWS programs for clubs to learn Git through pull requests. (See the name connection? Eh? EH!?🤭)
These can be anything from quick edits to massive overhauls. Perfect for any meeting length. ⏱️

Clone the repository. Have everyone in the club submit their own PRs. Merge them to see the monster you've all created.
Contribute and ship before May 31st to enter the 🏆 Clubs contest 🏆! The top two clubs will earn grants to improve their clubs along with custom stickers for all of the top three! *Note: Grant sizes depend on participation. More participation, larger prizes!
Fix Hack Club
Oh, was the above program not serious enough? Here's the real stuff then. Ship pull requests to improve any Hack Club infrastructure and earn individual rewards!
Here's how it works:

Browse Hack Club spaces and find something you want to improve. It can be anything from patching a bug, improving a design, adding relevant content, or something else!

Find its repository and submit a pull request.

Protect Your Devices!
Ever been excited about a new phone, just to immediately drop it on your tile floor? Asking for a friend....who definitely is not me.
Protect your devices by designing enclosures! We will 3D print and ship them to you. Each ship from clubs earns an additional $5 grant to improve your meetings!

Make Bookmarklets. Get the Club Funding.
Bookmarklets are small JavaScript programs, stored as a browser bookmark. When clicked, they run code to modify a webpage, extract data, or whatever you want!
There are two tiers of projects you can make:

First Tier: A bookmarklet with 2 features and get a $5 grant 🍕

Second tier: A bookmarklet with 5 features and get a $10 grant 🍕
